Taichi was born in Tokyo and raised in Hawaii. He began his career in the music industry in the classical and jazz department at Polygram, progressed to the A&R division at Mercury Music before becoming Marketing Director at Universal Music, working with numerous international acts including Sting, Limp Bizkit, Beck, Sonic Youth and Queens of the Stone Age.
A keen surfer and radio DJ from his years living in Hawaii he also set up a successful independent record label in Japan which specialises in surf music. He has worked as Regional Consultant for Musicstyling since 2016, mainly based in Japan but also working with clients in Korea, China and Australia.
Taichi brings a wealth of experience to his role and loves working closely with clients to help them realise their brand sound. Being involved from the outset with hotel openings such as Four Seasons Kyoto, Hyatt Centric Gina and Four Points by Sheraton Nagoya has given him a great sense of satisfaction as these diverse and absorbing projects have progressed from the early stages of initial consultancy through to completion.
