Cal Jader is one of the musical activists and founders behind London cultural protagonists Movimientos. With a trademark blend of red hot latin beats, uptempo carnival rhythms, tropical bass and fresh global sounds he is helping to soundtrack London's alternative club scene with regular sets across the capital, the UK and Europe.
Cal has played at clubs and festivals around the globe as far afield as Mexico City, Beirut, Kuala Lumpar, Istanbul and Brazil. In the UK he's played everywhere from countless festivals like Bestival, Glastonbury and The Secret Garden Party and has shared stages with world class live acts like Manu Chao, Bomba Estereo, Chico Trujillo, Novalima and Calle 13. He’s also notched up gigs across Europe including Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona, Bologna and Berlin.
As an active club promoter on the London scene he's played on bills alongside many big names from the new tropical scene including Quantic, Nickodemus, Philippe Cohen Sola from Gotan Project, Maga Bo and Sofrito.
He's also the founder of the label Movimientos Records and is championing the new wave of latin, tropical and global music in the UK. Cal has also recently compiled the Beginner's Guide to Latin America on Nascente Records and programmes music for various festival stages around the UK. He also hosts a bi-weekly Latin music show on London's SOAS Radio.
